It is said that a rolling stone gathers no moss. My life has largely been one of a wandering gypsy and my stone has gathered no moss. Which is ironic for a man who has wanted little more than to lead a simple life with roots sunk deep in his community. Wanderlust has not been the fire in my belly. No. It has been a search for belonging and purpose which have kept me moving; searching.
It is only in Christ that I finally find my purpose and my community.
Now, I live to bring others into this same value giving, purpose fulfilling life with Jesus and to disciple His followers into a deeper relationship.
I receive particular joy in journey with children who have such simple faith and joy, and youth, who are energetically looking to carve out space to belong; who will never find a challenge they aren’t up to facing. The courage, creativity, and community that these young leaders create inspire me to be a better man, husband, father, and minister.
my prayer is that the devotionals that I post here will be useful in bring all, young and young-at-heart alike, into deeper relationships with each other and with God.
