Psalms 1–41 form Book I of the Psalms, the first major collection of Israel’s songs and prayers.
These psalms focus on:

1. Tehillim — תְּהִלִּים — “Praises”
Though many psalms are laments, the entire collection is called “Praises” — pointing to the ultimate triumph of God’s people.
2. Ashrei — אַשְׁרֵי — “Blessed / happy / flourishing”
The first word of the Psalms — describing the righteous life.
3. Mashiach — מָשִׁיחַ — “Anointed One”
Psalm 2 sets the tone for the entire book — God’s chosen King.
4. Torah — תּוֹרָה — “Instruction / teaching”
Psalm 19 celebrates Torah as perfect, reviving the soul.
5. Ro’i — רֹעִי — “My Shepherd”
From Psalm 23 — one of the most intimate names for God.

The first book of Psalms contains some of the clearest Messianic prophecies in all Scripture.
1. Psalm 2 — Messiah the King
Nations rebel, but God enthrones His Son.
The New Testament quotes this repeatedly for Yeshua.
2. Psalm 16 — The Holy One will not see decay
Peter and Paul both apply this to Messiah’s resurrection.
3. Psalm 22 — The suffering Messiah
“My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?”
This psalm foreshadows the crucifixion in startling detail.
4. Psalm 23 — Messiah as our Shepherd
Yeshua identifies Himself as the Good Shepherd (John 10).
5. Psalm 40 — “Behold, I come to do Your will”
Hebrews 10 quotes this psalm to describe Messiah’s obedience unto death.

Foreshadows Judas (John 13:18).
